Adama Barrow to be sworn in on sunday in Senegal
Gambia’s president-elect, Adama
Barrow will be installed as Gambia’s
new President, today, January 19, at
the Gambian embassy in Dakar,
Senegal, Nigerian Bulletin reports.
Barrow, in a tweet, said: “I would
like to inform you that the
Inauguration Ceremony is going to
take place at the Gambian Embassy in
Dakar, Senegal.”
On Wednesday, January 18, the
president-elect said: “We made
history on the first day of December.
Our future starts tomorrow.”
Gambia’s president-elect, who won
the 1 December 2016 election, is
currently in Senegal under protection
as ECOWAS troops have entered the
tiny West African country to force
Jammeh out as his term elapses
today.
